Fly into Zurich for an overnight stay before heading through the Arlberg Pass to Salzburg. After a night here, take the train up into the high Alps and through the Semmering Pass before descending into Austria's historic capital and enjoying three nights in Vienna.

DAY 1 - LONDON TO ZURICH
Enjoy a flight from London to Zurich and upon arrival, check-in at the Du Theatre Zurich for an overnight stay. Nature-lovers should head to the Botanical Garden, admire the range of exotic plants and beautiful trees in this tranquil area. Perhaps wander through the narrow streets of the Niederdorf district, it's a great place for people watching from a street cafe. (Overnight in Zurich)

DAY 2 - ZURICH TO SALZBURG
After breakfast, take the train through the Swiss and Austrian Alps over the Arlberg Pass. This spectacular journey leaves Zurich, travelling along the bank of Lake Zürich before the Alpine scenery starts to come into view. You briefly pass through Liechtenstein before entering Austria. Travel along the Arlberg Pass, through mountain meadows and past stunning Alpine scenery. On arrival in Salzburg check in for an overnight stay at the Am Mirabellplatz Salzburg. 
Spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying the sights of Salzburg. Head for the old town looking over the Salzach River, with its cobbled streets of little shops and famous hilltop castle, known as the Festung Hohensalzburg. (Overnight in Salzburg) B

DAY 3 - SALZBURG TO VIENNA
This morning catch a train from Salzburg via Villach and the Semmering Pass to Vienna. Soon after Salzburg, the train enters the Austrian Alps, climbing through epic mountain scenery. Look out for the magnificent fortress at Werfen (although the train doesn't call here), perched on a hilltop on the right hand side, en route to Villach along the Salzachtal valley. As you emerge from the Semmering Tunnel you will get a close view of mountain peaks with the valley floor thousands of feet below.
Around an hour later, your service pulls in to Vienna Matzleindorf station. On arrival, check in at the Zeitgeist Hotel for a three night stay. After settling in to your hotel, why not begin your exploration of Vienna with an evening at the opera? (Overnight in Vienna) B

DAY 4 - VIENNA
Spend two full days in Austria's imperial capital city. Visit iconic Viennese attractions such as the Ringstrasse, the Sacher Café, the Spanish Riding School, the Hofburg Palace and St Stephan's Cathedral. Alternatively, why not spend some time visiting Vienna's imperial residences like the Belvedere and Schonbrunn Palaces or wandering around the city's fascinating museums? (Overnight in Vienna) B

DAY 5 - VIENNA
Enjoy another day sightseeing in Vienna. Highly recommended is a walk along the Danube to the colourful and eccentric Kunsthaus, designed by local architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. (Overnight in Vienna) B

DAY 6 - VIENNA TO LONDON
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before travelling to the airport for your flight back to London. B
