Famous for the stunning Palace of the Popes, Avignon is a city brimming with culture and wonderful gastronomy. Journey from Avignon along the beautiful French Riviera before arriving into Nice. Stroll along the Promenade des Anglais, stretching elegantly along the Mediterranean coastline, visit the pretty markets and dine on wonderful seafood before heading back home.

Daily Itinerary:

DAY 1 - LONDON TO AVIGNON
Begin your adventure to France! Speed under the Channel from London St Pancras, Ebbsfleet or Ashford to Paris before transferring on to the high-speed TGV to Avignon. Or make use of the direct service (seasonal) that will speed you straight from London to Avignon*. Travel through the Auvergne region, with its volcanic landscapes, winding rivers and rolling valleys, the perfect relaxing journey! Check in at your hotel in Avignon for a two-night stay. (Overnight in Avignon)

*Please not the direct Eurostar service to the south of France will not be running in 2020/2021.

DAY 2 - AVIGNON
After breakfast at your hotel this morning, make use of your included tickets and explore Avignon's most famous and historic building - the impressive Palace of the Popes, built in the 14th century. Then head over to the Pont d'Avignon, the bridge made famous by the song of the same name and a wonderful spot for vistas of the River Rhône. Discover the charm of the city's ancient streets and the courtyards of its private mansions before relaxing in one of the fantastic restaurants Avignon has to offer. (Overnight in Avignon). B

DAY 3 - AVIGNON TO NICE
Board the TGV train and travel south through the landscapes of Provence before continuing along the French Riviera and the Mediterranean coast with its glamorous villas and golden beaches. Check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. Spend the evening enjoying traditional cuisine in one of the charming restaurants in Nice. The boulevards are lined with cosy eateries serving fantastic dishes featuring fresh fish, cheeses and of course, local wine. (Overnight in Nice). B

DAY 4 - NICE
After breakfast at your hotel, get your bearings of the charming town of "Nice la belle" with a 3hr guided tour. Blessed with a sunny, temperate climate, Nice offers beautiful beaches, luxurious seaside dining and plenty of opportunities for shopping. Not to be missed is the flower and food market in the centre of the Old Town. For some culture, visit the Chagall and Matisse galleries to experience the colourful works of these two famous French artists. (Overnight in Nice). B

DAY 5 - NICE TO LONDON
Check out of your hotel after breakfast and make your way to the airport in Nice for your flight back to the UK. Prefer to return home by train? Just let our Rail Experts know and they will make all the arrangements for you. B
