DAY 1 - LONDON TO MUNICH
Take the Eurostar from London to Brussels this morning where you will pick up a high-speed ICE train that will transport you directly to Cologne. Changeover here for the journey to Munich. On arrival in the Bavarian capital, check into your hotel for a two-night stay. (Overnight in Munich)

DAY 2 - MUNICH
Spend a full day in Munich, exploring the many famous sights and attractions of the Alpine city. Explore the Marienplatz at the heart of the city and take in the city views from the top of the Town Hall. Uncover the legend behind the Teufelstritt (Devil's Footstep) or you might also like to take a tour of the renowned Deutsches Museum. Of course, no visit to Munich is complete without a visit to a beer hall! The Hofbräuhaus am Platzl is undoubtedly the most famous of these, where you can sample some Weisswürste (white sausage) or Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle) with your Mass (litre glass) of beer. DAY 3 - MUNICH TO SALZBURG
Spend another morning in Munich before taking the train to Salzburg. On arrival in Salzburg, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. Salzburg is your first taste of Austria, the mountains…The Sound of Music! Try the restaurants on the right side of the river around Linzergasse for a real taste of Salzburg. For an adventure into Austrian beer you will need to head for the atmospheric Mullner Brewery - known officially as the Augustiner Braustubel. (Overnight in Salzburg) B

DAY 4 - SALZBURG
After breakfast at your hotel this morning, spend the day enjoying the sights of Salzburg. Head for the old town looking over the Salzach River, with its cobbled streets of little shops. Fans of composer Mozart can visit his birthplace, now a museum dedicated to his life and work showcasing various fascinating exhibits. The city's Baroque Old Town is UNESCO World Heritage listed and dominated by the massive Festung Hohensalzburg, one of the largest medieval castles in Europe. (Overnight in Salzburg) B

DAY 5 - SALZBURG TO INNSBRUCK
Today you take the train from Salzburg to Innsbruck. Make sure you have your camera as you'll be passing through some of the most mountainous and scenic parts of Austria. On arrival in Innsbruck, check in to at your hotel for a two-night stay. (Overnight in Innsbruck) B

DAY 6 - INNSBRUCK
Spend the day at leisure today exploring stunning Innsbruck. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, Innsbruck has gained a reputation as an impressive Austrian holiday destination due to its fantastic winter sporting events and impressive historical monuments. Visit the Hofkirche Innsbruck or the Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof), both popular landmarks dedicated to Maximilian I, before indulging in some local cuisine. (Overnight in Innsbruck). B

DAY 7 - INNSBRUCK TO COLOGNE
After breakfast in your hotel this morning, travel by train from Innsbruck to Cologne, changing once in Munich. Sit back and relax as the train passes through picturesque countryside before arriving in the historic market town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Continue by train to Cologne where you check into the Marriott Cologne for an overnight stay. Visit Cologne's Chocolate Museum for a tasting, relax in a traditional bar and sample the local specialty beer, Kölsch, or head up to the top of the Dom Cathedral for fabulous views over the city. DAY 8 - COLOGNE TO LONDON
Enjoy breakfast in the hotel and spend the morning exploring more of Cologne before travelling by train to Brussels. On arrival in Brussels, connect on the Eurostar back to London. B
