DAY 1 -LAUSANNE

After a Eurostar journey to Paris, speed to the Swiss Riviera onboard a TGV. On arrival in Lausanne make your way to your hotel and check in for an overnight stay, then enjoy an evening stroll along the beautiful lake front before dinner. (Overnight Lausanne)

DAY 2 -LAUSANNE TO ROME

This morning travel through the alps along the beautiful Simplon Pass into Italy. Change trains in Milan then check-in at your hotel in Rome for a 2-night stay. (Overnight Rome) B

DAY 3 -ROME

Following breakfast at your hotel, head out to explore the city. In the afternoon skip the queues at the Colosseum on your small group tour and learn the ancient stories whilst wandering the ancient Forum. Speak to any of our team if you would like to visit the amazing Vatican museum and see the breath-taking Sistine chapel. In the evening perhaps head over to the gorgeous Piazza Navona for dinner, or enjoy an aperitif admiring the Pantheon. (Overnight Rome) B

DAY 4 -ROME TO VENICE

Watch the Italian scenery pass by on your highspeed train journey to Venice and once checked in at your hotel for 2-nights take a stroll over the Rialto Bridge and enjoy one of the most celebrated views in all eternity. (Overnight Venice) B

DAY 5 -VENICE

Make your way down to St Mark's square today for your guided tour around the gorgeous Golden Basilica and Doges Palace where you will discover the bleak history of the bridge of sighs. Enjoy a guided walk around some of the less familiar alleys, canals and lanes around San Marco and Cannaregio where you will learn the stories of the great Venetian Republic. (Overnight Venice) B

DAY 6 -MURANO/BURANO/TORCELLO TOUR AND THE OVERNIGHT TRAIN TO VIENNA

This morning take to the water onboard a beautiful cruise and head to the islands. Discover the home of some of the most treasured glass works in the world on Burano, then the vibrantly coloured picturesque fisherman houses of Burano. Then onto historic Torcello and its ancient Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta - the inspiration to Dante's Divine Comedy. Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoy dinner before making your way to the station and the comfort of your cabin aboard the overnight train to Vienna. (Overnight Onboard) B

DAY 7 -VIENNA

Enjoy breakfast in your cabin before the train pulls into Vienna, then make your way to your hotel for a 2-night stay. Once refreshed, head out to enjoy the city and make the most of your 2-day sightseeing pass. Admire the grand Baroque monuments and palaces across the city from the comfort of your open top bus, and perhaps pop into the Sacher hotel for some authentic Sacher-torte. (Overnight Vienna) B

DAY 8 - VIENNA

Enjoy a relaxing morning, then explore at your leisure thanks to your sightseeing pass. Tour the amazing Schönbrunn?Palace and its huge gardens perhaps or take a ride on the classic Ferris Wheel made famous from ‘The Third Man'. Vienna is often listed as one of the most attractive places to live in the world, and any visitor would find it hard to disagree. (Overnight Vienna) B

DAY 9 - END OF TOUR

Locanda Vivaldi

Hotel Locanda Vivaldi was inaugurated at the end of 1999, after painstaking and long restructuring works on the building adjacent to the Church of Pietà.

In 1703 Antonio Vivaldi was ordained a priest and started to work as a violin teacher in the Pietà conservatory, where he remained until 1740.

Hotel Massimo d'Azeglio

This beautifully lit lounge room displays a large parchment map of the Mediterranean Sea and an inlay of precious woods.

The Ai Mori d'Oriente Hotel is a historic hotel set in a palace which was once home to Turkish merchants, known as the 'Mori'.
