Want to Treat Yourself? Find out What to Expect When Upgrading to First-Class Rail Travel
Upgrading your train travel can be a great way to add a little luxury and make your holiday even more special. Here’s what you can expect if you choose to upgrade some, or all, of your journey. Speak to one of our Travel Consultants on 020 3780 2222 for details on your specific route.
Travelling in first class will invariably mean upgrading to a larger, plusher seat with more arm and legroom – perfect when your journey is a long one.
Seating configurations in carriages will likely be different too, with many offering tables of two.
Speak to one of our Travel Consultants about the configuration on your specific train.
On many, although not all, European trains, upgrading to first class will offer you food or drink options.
On Eurostar, for example, Standard Premier customers are served a light meal appropriate to the time of day. On ICE trains through German, at-seat meal service is provided (payable locally), and on Frecciarossa trains through Italy, at-seat drinks are served.
Speak to your Railbookers Travel Consultant for information on what will be available on the trains on your holiday.
In many of Europe’s larger stations, first-class ticket holders are entitled to use station lounges. Facilities vary, but a first-class lounge will invariably provide you with a quiet place to relax and wait for your train in quiet and comfort. Many lounges serve beverages and offer WiFi internet access.
