Khiva

Founded over 1,500 years ago, Khiva was one of the Silk Road’s most important trading posts, as it lies at the crossroads of the routes between Mongolia, Russia, China, and Persia. Today, Khiva is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the old town retains a wealth of impressive mosques, bazaars, and minarets within its ancient city walls.
