Inverness

The gorgeous gateway to the highlands of Scotland, Inverness is nestled at the northern tip of Loch Ness on the south side of the Moray Firth. The city itself straddles both banks of the River Ness and offers great opportunities for scenic walks and evening entertainment, particularly performances of traditional music. Stroll down to the Ness Islands or the Caledonian Canal, visit the Inverness Museum & Art Gallery or join a tour of the imposing Urquhart Castle and see if you can spot the legendary Loch Ness Monster from the battlements.
