The Orkney Islands

An ancient archipelago just 25 miles from the Scottish mainland the Orkneys Islands are home to some breath-taking sites of historical interest such as the prehistoric village of Skara Brae and the Neolithic Maes Howe chambered Cairn dating from some 5,000 years ago. The 70 islands are a great place to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights in the right conditions during autumn and winter.
