Shahrisabz

Shahrisabz, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in southern Uzbekistan, is the birthplace of Amir Timur (Tamerlane) and a key city along the ancient Silk Road. Its historic centre features monumental Timurid-era architecture, including the towering remnants of Ak-Saray Palace and the blue-domed Kok-Gumbaz Mosque. Visitors can explore the Dorut Tilovat and Dorus Saodat complexes, which house mausoleums and a crypt intended for Timur himself. Despite modern reconstructions, Shahrisabz retains its historical significance and offers a glimpse into Central Asia's rich cultural heritage.
