Ronda
Romantic Ronda is nestled in and around the deep, dramatic El Tajo gorge in the province of Malaga. Beloved by Ernest Hemingway, he used the town in one of his greatest novels “For Whom the Bell Tolls.” Orson Welles was also fascinated with Ronda’s rich bullfighting history. The birthplace of modern bullfighting, the Plaza de Toros de Ronda (bullfighting ring) is one of the oldest in Spain. Admire the impressive gorge, which itself separates the new town, established in the 15th century, from the old town, which dates back to Moorish rule.
